Privacy Policy

Atlas Mentorship LLC · Last Updated: August 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Atlas Mentorship LLC ("Atlas," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. Atlas is a debate mentorship platform: it connects debate students with experienced competitive debaters, and operates the Atlas Arena, a debate practice and competition feature that is under active development. Debate is the only subject Atlas currently offers mentorship in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Atlas platform. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the platform. Because our platform serves users under the age of 18, we take our privacy obligations especially seriously. You must be at least 13 years old to use Atlas, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly: • Name, email address, and password when you create an account, together with your account type (Mentee, Mentor, or Arena viewer) and your time zone • Your date of birth • Profile information, including your biography, the profile and banner images you upload, and the debate focus areas you select • From Mentors: a professional headline, the session rate you set, and proof of your debate credentials, which you may provide as uploaded files, as links, or as a written explanation • From Arena participants: a display name, school, grade level, debate background, and the availability you enter • Payment information. Card details are collected and stored by our third-party payment provider, not by us. We store a customer reference, a saved payment method reference, and the card brand and last four digits so that you can recognise a card you have saved. Mentors who receive payouts also provide payout account details, such as a PayPal account email or an identifier for a connected payment account. • Messages, file attachments, and session notes you send through the platform, and reviews and feedback you submit • Communications you send to us via support or contact forms Information Collected Automatically: • We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the platform, and we do not build behavioural profiles of our users. • Our hosting, database, and email providers generate operational logs in the ordinary course of delivering the service. Those logs can include IP address, device and browser information, and the time of a request. We use them for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. • Cookies that are necessary to run the platform, principally to keep you signed in (see Section 7). Information from Third Parties: If you sign in via a third-party service (e.g., Google), we may receive basic profile information from that service consistent with your privacy settings there. A Note on the Atlas Arena: The Atlas Arena is under active development and its features are still being built. As Arena functionality is released, using it may involve information beyond the profile details listed above, such as records of the matches, practice rounds, or judging you take part in, the ratings and standings that result, and content you submit during an Arena activity. We will update this policy as those features ship rather than describe collection that is not yet in place.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: • Create and manage your account • Match Mentees with debate Mentors and support the sessions they book • Operate the Arena features you choose to use • Process payments and send transaction confirmations • Send you session reminders, platform updates, and support communications • Improve and personalize the platform experience • Monitor for fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service • Comply with applicable legal obligations • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances: With Other Users: Profile information you make public (such as your name, school, biography, debate focus areas, and, for Mentors, credentials and session rate) is visible to other users on the platform. We do not share your contact information, payment details, or private messages with other users without your consent. With Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform. Today these include our payment processors (for card payments and for Mentor payouts), our video session provider, our transactional email provider, and our hosting, authentication, database, and file storage providers. These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to perform services on our behalf. For Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Atlas, our users, or the public. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
